Why Subscribe?
A few years ago, I asked myself why I should start taking music more seriously. It’s hard work, and there’s no guarantee that anything worthwhile will come of it. But then I thought, I need to go for it full throttle. For the next few years, whenever I doubted my commitment, I would remind myself, “Do it for your future self!”
These courses are no-nonsense. I don’t just tell you to play something without explaining how it works, like many guitar teachers do. These courses are designed for those who want to become serious gospel musicians.

A little about me
My name is Tim Fair. I am a pastor's kid, born and raised in Sacramento, California, and I’ve been playing guitar for over 15 years. My church is Calvary Worship Center, and we are part of the UPCI organization. UPCI is best known for producing contemporary gospel music, similar to artists like Israel Houghton. However, when I first started learning guitar, my church primarily played Black gospel music, much of which was written by members of the COGIC organization.
My gospel influences include Eric Walls and Jonathan DuBose Jr. Like most gospel musicians, I learned the hard way—by ear and being thrown onto the platform. Gospel music often has a lot of gatekept information, but through extensive transcription, guidance from mentors, and deep study of music theory, I’ve become highly skilled in gospel music. I’ve also developed a passion for breaking down music theory in a way that’s accessible and understandable for others.
